Got me thinking...
about giving people second chances..
if you found out that your friend/colleague/girlfriend/boyfriend murdered someone when he/she was younger..would you forgive him/her?
when i watched this, i was really hoping that people would forgive Eric/Jack for his crimes.
(you know..me and my happy ending/optimism)
For people to realize that Eric/Jack is not who he was in the past.
but i daresay that he wasn't evil when he committed murder
It was due to society, peer pressure and family background.
but i guess your past will always hunt you even after you get back into society.
there will be the victim's family and friends who will never forgive you.
and people who will always be wary of you in fear that that little boy in you is still living...
actually before i watched the movie, i subconsciously felt that people like that deserved what they got.. an eye for an eye.
that they're evil and should be put away in jail for life/should not be forgiven..
because i nvr got to the part that people like that would change and to the part that there could be some reasons and that not everyone is evil..
murdering someone ( not out of self-defense) is crazy and evil...
and the fact that they're children..children who are innocent..children who shld be enjoying and not murdering..
i felt a lot for Eric/Jack..
because it kinda showed me that not everyone is evil.
being friends with someone of such a past probably needs loads of trust...
it opened up my world and let me see the other side.. the side of the criminal and not the victim (:
still i think it's difficult not to think of the person's past and not feel scared..
haha THERE :D
any more good movies to recommend?
